For the release of the 2010 A-Team movie, Fox faced a dilemma: How can we generate buzz within a generation that’s never even heard the phrase, “I pity the fool?” Our idea: Enlist the help of today’s hottest producers — MSTRKRFT (Justice, The Kills), Rye Rye feat. NGUZUNGUZU (M.I.A., Diplo), Dan the Automator (Gorillaz, DJ Shadow) and Just Blaze (Jay-Z, Eminem) — to remix their own versions of the A-Team theme song. We seeded the tracks through music blogs and the songs went viral, showing up on radio stations, blogs and DJ mixtapes. We filmed making-of videos for each, which racked up half a million views and turned A-Team Remixed into the leading digital effort of the international marketing campaign.
